Guest Speaker: Professor André Gerolymatos

“Churchill and the Secret Services”

Professor André Gerolymatos is a Professor of History, an Associate member of

the School of Criminology, holds the Hellenic Canadian Congress of BC Chair of

Hellenic Studies, and is Director of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Centre for

Hellenic Studies at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia. He is

also a concurrent Professor at the History College of Nankai University, China.

A prolific writer and lecturer, Dr. Gerolymatos has a special interest in the political

and social history of modern Greece, military history, intelligence and guerrilla

warfare in the 20th Century, as well as security studies and international relations

in the 20th and 21st Centuries. He has authored seven books including Castles

Made of Sand: A Century of Anglo-American Espionage.
